Nigeria Police Outlines Application for Character Certificate

The Nigeria Police Force has outlined the application process for obtaining a Police Character Certificate and Tinted Glass Permit via its Police Specialised Services Automation Project (POSSAP) portal. Applicants must complete most of the process online before visiting a designated police command for biometric capture.

The online request form requires details such as identification type, identification number, full name, phone number, email address, gender, state of residence, local government area, and residential address. The application process consists of four stages: selecting the tinted glass permit service, completing the online request form, confirming and submitting the application, and making the required payment.

The Nigeria Police Force reserves the right to approve or reject applications based on operational guidelines and security considerations. False information or forged documents will lead to automatic rejection and possible penalties.

Applicants must appear in person for biometric capture and pay a non-refundable application fee through the POSSAP platform. Processing and issuance require a minimum of 72 hours.
