Anambra Police Clarify Tinted Vehicle Impound Operations

The Anambra State Police Command has issued a statement regarding the ongoing impounding of vehicles with tinted windows, including those with valid tinted glass permits. The command, represented by spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga, emphasized that this exercise is not intended to cause unnecessary inconvenience to motorists.

Instead, it is part of a broader security operation aimed at addressing the rise in insecurity and preventing criminals from exploiting vehicles. The operation focuses on verifying the authenticity of tinted glass permits to identify any fraudulent permits and ensure compliance with vehicle registration and number plate regulations.

The police command expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and appealed to the public for understanding and cooperation, stressing that the initiative is in the interest of safeguarding lives and property and enhancing public safety across Anambra State.
