Olaopa Advocates for Enhanced IPPIS in Civil Service

On Monday, during the Go-Live Ceremony and Official Launch of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) Human Resource Modules in Abuja, Prof. Tunji Olaopa, Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), discussed enhancements for IPPIS.

He emphasized the need for change management strategies to address existing gaps and improve public sector adoption. Olaopa highlighted the importance of data integrity and resolving discrepancies in personnel data.

The launch is expected to benefit over 600,000 civil servants by allowing them to manage records, download payslips, and apply for leave digitally. He noted that the system would facilitate data-driven workforce planning and automate various HR processes.

Olaopa also proposed appointing 'digital ambassadors' from tech-savvy junior and mid-level staff to support older officers. He reflected on his role as the first IPPIS desk officer since its inception in 2006 and expressed satisfaction with the launch of the modernized HR modules.
