Arewa Forum Advocates for Digital Governance in Nigeria

The Arewa Professional Forum has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to expedite the adoption of digital governance and paperless administration across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies. In a statement released on Saturday, the forum's National President, Auwal Muhammed, emphasized that recent developments regarding the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council highlight the necessity for stronger institutional systems.

The forum advocates for public service reforms that leverage technology to prevent administrative lapses. It acknowledged the significant achievements of Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, in transforming the Federal Civil Service through digital innovation.

Over the past two years, the Office of the Head of the Civil Service has implemented ambitious digital reform programs, including the Enterprise Content Management System and GovMail. The forum stated that these reforms enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in government operations, particularly benefiting Northern Nigeria through improved digital service delivery and merit-based processes.
