Sheikh Jingir Clarifies Stance on Christians, Urges Fairness

Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, the Chairman of the Izalatil Bid’a Wa’ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), clarified his stance regarding Christians, stating that he does not harbor any dislike towards them. This clarification came after he faced criticism for his support of Muslim-Muslim tickets and comments referring to Christians as infidels.

Speaking at a One-Day National Symposium in Jos, Nigeria, Jingir emphasized that his previous remarks were misinterpreted and that Islam promotes love and fairness towards individuals of different faiths. He warned Muslims against harming non-Muslims and highlighted the peaceful coexistence exemplified by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Jingir called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other political leaders to practice justice and fairness in their governance, irrespective of religious affiliations, and to respect the electoral rights of all Nigerians to choose their candidates freely.
