Sowore Shares Amaechi's Post-Clash Invitation at NBA Event

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress, disclosed that following a confrontation with Rotimi Amaechi at the 66th Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association in Port Harcourt, Amaechi invited him to his residence for a meal and beer. This invitation came after a session where Sowore challenged Amaechi's claims regarding his public service record.

During the exchange, Amaechi, who is the vice-presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress to Atiku Abubakar, expressed displeasure at Sowore's interruptions, telling him to "close your mouth." Sowore later contacted Amaechi, suggesting he should have apologized for his remarks. Sowore humorously declined the invitation, saying he was wary of accepting food or drinks from someone he had just argued with, jokingly stating, “I don’t want you to poison me.” The incident highlighted the tensions between the two political figures regarding Amaechi's tenure as Rivers State governor from 2007 to 2015 and his subsequent role as Minister of Transportation.
