Matawalle Withdraws from 2027 Race, Backs Dauda Lawal

Bello Matawalle, the former governor of Zamfara State, has announced his withdrawal from the 2027 governorship race, officially endorsing Dauda Lawal, the current governor. This decision was made public during a reception ceremony attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima and other notable figures, including former governor Abdulaziz Yari and APC leaders.

During the event, Matawalle expressed his commitment to support Lawal's re-election bid, emphasizing the need for unity within the party. Vice President Shettima reaffirmed the federal government's commitment to addressing security challenges in Zamfara State and assured the deployment of adequate security personnel and equipment to combat banditry.

Matawalle also called on residents to support President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 general elections, highlighting the importance of collective efforts to move the state forward.
