Atiku Abubakar Claims He Saved Obasanjo from Injection

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, disclosed in an interview that he saved former President Olusegun Obasanjo from a potentially fatal injection while both were in prison. Atiku stated that he leaked information regarding the impending injection, which he believed could have killed Obasanjo.

He drew a parallel to a similar situation involving the late General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, claiming that a plan to administer a lethal injection was also directed at him. Atiku warned Obasanjo against accepting the injection, asserting that his actions were motivated by a desire to protect him.

He further expressed that Obasanjo's current animosity towards him stems from his opposition to Obasanjo's ambition for a third term in office. Atiku served as Vice President to Obasanjo from 1999 to 2007.
