Michael Emenalo Leaves Saudi Pro League After Three Years

Michael Emenalo has officially announced his departure from the Saudi Pro League, where he held the position of the league's first Director of Football for three years. His tenure was marked by efforts to transform the league, attracting some of the world's biggest football stars and significantly raising its global profile.

Emenalo stated that he leaves the league in a strong position for continued success, reflecting on the ambitious goals set during his time. He emphasized the importance of establishing a structured framework to achieve these goals and acknowledged the support from the staff at the Saudi League's Football Development Department.

Emenalo, who earned 14 caps for Nigeria as part of the Super Eagles squad during the 1994 FIFA World Cup, has had a notable career in football administration, previously serving in various roles at Chelsea, including Chief Scout and Sport Director, before moving to Monaco as Sport Director in 2017.
