Peter Obi: May Not Live to Contest 2027 Elections

Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, stated during an interview with Chude Jideonwo that he might not be alive to contest in the 2027 elections. He expressed his frustrations with the current government, describing daily experiences of obstruction and discouragement faced by opposition figures.

Obi did not make direct accusations but indicated that the government's actions have created a hostile environment for political engagement. He cited an incident at an airport where officials allegedly locked his car despite it being parked in the designated area, illustrating the challenges faced by opposition members.

Obi also claimed that people are afraid to publicly associate with him or attend family events due to fears of becoming targets for government reprisals. He noted that invitations to events such as weddings are often declined due to this fear.

The federal government has yet to respond to his claims.
