ICPC Chairman Urges New Secretaries to Prioritize Integrity

During an induction training program for four newly appointed permanent secretaries held at the Chief Olusegun Obasanjo Conference Hall in Abuja, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), charged the officials to prioritize public interest.

He delivered a clarion call emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability within the federal civil service. Dr.

Aliyu outlined the ICPC's mandate to prevent, investigate, and prosecute corruption within the public sector, while also educating on compliance with anti-corruption principles. He highlighted the significance of Section 15(5) of the Nigerian Constitution, which mandates the abolition of corrupt practices and abuse of power.

The induction program featured remarks from Mr. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, representing the permanent secretaries, who commended the ICPC's proactive measures to ensure adherence to due process in government responsibilities.
