ICPC Discovers More Fake Agencies in PFIPC Fraud Case

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has revealed the discovery of two additional fictitious government agencies as part of its ongoing investigation into the fraudulent activities of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, reported these findings on Thursday after presenting an interim report to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Investigators confirmed that Adeniyi Matthew Adeyemi, the alleged Director-General of PFIPC, was never appointed by the Federal Government, and the organization lacks legal status. The commission found that Adeyemi used a forged appointment letter and that the fake PFIPC unlawfully occupied offices and utilized materials from the defunct Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC).

The investigation also identified two more non-existent agencies linked to the scheme, which were created using forged legislative instruments. The ICPC has recommended the prosecution of Adeyemi and disciplinary actions against public officials involved, while the investigation remains ongoing.
