Idoma Association USA Urges Tinubu for Military Action

The Idoma Association USA has formally petitioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding the escalating violence against the Idoma people in Benue State, specifically calling for immediate military intervention to halt the attacks by armed herdsmen. The letter, signed by President Dr.

Edwin Ocha and Secretary Chief Sylvest Onch, highlights a recent incident in Akpachi Village, Ugboju, Otukpo Local Government Area, where at least 20 people were killed and many injured between July 11 and 12, 2026. The association expressed concern over the recurring violence, which has claimed hundreds of lives over the past decade across various local government areas.
