Kwara Speaker Danladi Faces Opposition Amid Achievements

Hon. Yakubu Danladi Salihu, the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, has become a contentious figure among opposition voices who criticize his leadership despite his significant legislative accomplishments.

Under his leadership, the Assembly has made notable strides, including the repeal of a controversial pension law that provided lifelong financial benefits to former governors and deputy governors, a move initiated on January 26, 2021. Additionally, Danladi's leadership facilitated the revocation of land titles acquired by former Senate President Bukola Saraki, which were deemed non-compliant with pension laws.

The Assembly also investigated a multi-billion naira electrification project initiated by former Governor Ahmed, leading to allegations of financial misconduct.
