Kebbi High Court Judge Justice Bunza Released After Kidnapping

Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza, a High Court Judge in Kebbi State, was abducted from his residence in Bunza Local Government Area by suspected bandits last week. After spending approximately one week in captivity, he was released and reunited with his family, who confirmed his safe return shortly before the news became public.

The family expressed their gratitude to God and thanked the Kebbi State Judiciary, security agencies, and the public for their prayers and support during the ordeal. They did not disclose the circumstances of his release but indicated that details would be shared later.

The Kebbi State Police Command had deployed tactical and intelligence teams to secure the judge's rescue and apprehend the abductors. The abduction of Justice Bunza has drawn widespread condemnation and highlighted growing concerns regarding the safety of judicial officers in Nigeria, particularly following a recent incident where a Shari’ah Court Judge narrowly escaped a similar fate in Katsina State.
