IGP Disu Orders 24/7 Operation for Police Complaints Unit

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Disu has directed that the Complaints Response Unit (CRU) of the Nigeria Police Force remain operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This initiative is designed to provide citizens with a direct platform to report cases of police misconduct, abuse, extortion, human rights violations, and unethical behavior involving police personnel.

The announcement was made during an emergency conference with members of the Police Commission held at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Peacekeeping Centre in Abuja. IGP Disu emphasized that addressing legitimate complaints from citizens is a core pillar of ongoing reforms within the Nigeria Police Force.

He urged Nigerians to utilize the complaint channels and stressed the importance of public cooperation in building a professional and transparent police institution. The statement from the Force Public Relations Office reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to accountability and public trust.
