IGP Approves Nationwide Safe School Club Initiative

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, has officially approved the nationwide implementation of the Safe School Club initiative, a significant milestone for the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC). This decision was made during a crucial meeting held at the police headquarters in Abuja.

The initiative aims to enhance the safety and welfare of schoolchildren across Nigeria. The IGP endorsed three sample designs for the Safe School Club uniforms, which include a distinct fez cap to serve as the official uniform.

Additionally, a special design for traffic safety banners was approved to aid students crossing roads near schools. The IGP emphasized the importance of building membership strength to 10,000 participants in the Safe School program and ensuring effective control and coordination at all levels.

Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan, the PCRC national chairman, expressed gratitude for the IGP's support and reaffirmed the committee's commitment to the initiative's success. The program is expected to strengthen school safety and promote community participation in policing efforts.
