Iheanacho Praises 'God of Soccer' After Celtic Title Win

Kelechi Iheanacho credited the "god of soccer" for Celtic FC's dramatic Scottish Premiership title victory on Saturday, where they defeated Heart of Midlothian 3-1 at Celtic Park. This win secured Celtic's 14th league title in 15 years and their first championship since 1960.

Iheanacho, who was introduced from the bench, played a notable role in the second half, helping shift momentum in favor of Celtic. The match saw Lawrence Shankland score for Hearts, but Celtic equalized through a penalty by Daizen Maeda after a handball incident involving Callum Osmand.

The decisive moment came when Maeda scored again, with VAR overturning an initial offside call. Iheanacho described the season as "crazy" and emphasized the importance of the title for the fans, stating it was particularly special given the dramatic nature of the campaign.

He contributed eight goals in 22 appearances throughout the season, despite facing injury setbacks, and Celtic now turns its attention to the Scottish Cup final.
