Kelechi Iheanacho had a successful debut for Bursaspor, scoring and providing an assist in a 2-0 away victory against Bodrum on Sunday, marking the start of the 2026/27 campaign. Iheanacho completed a free transfer to Bursaspor in July, concluding months of speculation regarding his future after a notable loan spell at Celtic, where he scored nine goals despite injury challenges.

His performance contributed to Celtic's domestic double, but negotiations to extend his stay there fell through, leading to his three-year contract with Bursaspor. In the match, Iheanacho opened the scoring in the 27th minute and assisted a teammate just before halftime.

This victory places Bursaspor second in the Turkish second-tier standings, as they aim for promotion to the Super Lig.
