Ikeja Golf Club Claims Victory in 2026 Matchplay Tournament

Ikeja Golf Club emerged as champions of the 2026 Interclub Matchplay tournament after defeating Abeokuta Golf Club in a two-day competition held at the Ikeja Golf Club course in Lagos. The tournament commenced on Friday, September 18, and was organized to enhance the relationship, unity, and camaraderie between the two clubs.

At the tournament's conclusion, Ikeja Golf Club Captain Segun Odunuga thanked members of both clubs for their commitment to maintaining their longstanding friendship. He expressed hope that the bond between the clubs would remain strong.

Umar Bakare, the captain of Abeokuta Golf Club, also conveyed his appreciation for the warm hospitality received during their stay in Lagos, humorously noting that the friendly gestures ceased once they entered the golf course. Bakare promised that the Abeokuta delegation would return with fond memories and a competitive spirit for future encounters when Ikeja Golf Club visits Abeokuta.
