Bandawaire Confirms Commitment to Taraba North Senate Race

Kabiru Bello Bandawaire, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Taraba North Senate seat, has publicly stated that he will not withdraw from the race. Speaking on Saturday in Jalingo, Taraba State, Bandawaire dismissed media reports claiming he would be replaced by another candidate, specifically Shuibu Isa Lau.

He emphasized that he has no intention of stepping aside and maintains that he was validly elected as the party's flag bearer. Bandawaire described the allegations of his potential replacement as false and misleading, asserting that the APC has not communicated any decision regarding a substitute candidate.

He referenced the Electoral Act, which outlines the process for substituting candidates, and confirmed that he has neither indicated an intent to withdraw nor submitted any letter to the party expressing such a decision. Bandawaire reiterated that the mandate he holds is from the people and that he respects the due process of the party.
