Badawair Affirms Candidacy for Taraba North Senate Seat

Hon. Kabiru Bello Badawair, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Taraba North Senate seat, has firmly declared that he will not withdraw from the Senate race.

This statement comes in response to claims circulating in the media regarding the potential replacement of his candidacy with that of the incumbent senator, Shuaibu Isa Lau. Badawair emphasized that an individual cannot sell the mandate given to them by the electorate and that any withdrawal from the race must be communicated properly and with consent from the party.

He referenced Section 29 of the Electoral Act, which stipulates that a candidate must decide to withdraw from the race themselves. Badawair reassured supporters that he remains the candidate for the APC and will continue to contest for the Senate seat representing Taraba North, reinforcing his commitment to the electoral process and respect for due procedure.
