Amaechi Promises Nigeria Transformation in Four Years

Rotimi Amaechi, a former Minister of Transport and presidential aspirant for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), announced his intention to transform Nigeria within four years if elected in the 2027 general elections. He made this pledge shortly after submitting his nomination form at the ADC national headquarters in Abuja.

Amaechi criticized the administration of President Bola Tinubu, attributing the country's worsening economic hardship to its policies. He emphasized that his candidacy would be based on merit and experience rather than ethnic sentiments, citing his tenure as Governor of River State from 2007 to 2015 and his role as Minister of Transport from 2015 to 2023, where he oversaw significant railway projects.

Amaechi expressed concern over the current economic realities facing Nigerians and stated that he would prefer a direct primary process for the ADC presidential nomination. His declaration comes amid increasing political realignments as opposition parties seek to build coalitions to challenge the ruling APC.
