Tacha Denies Fraud Allegations Following Arrest in Lagos

Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, was arrested at her residence in Lagos on Sunday, August 30, 2023, over allegations of a ₦5 million fraud case. The accusations stemmed from a social media user who claimed Tacha collected ₦5 million from a woman seeking financial assistance for her husband's kidney transplant.

Tacha stated in an interview with Vanguard that she had never communicated with the woman in question and was unaware of the allegations until they surfaced online. She specifically mentioned that the accusations were linked to posts made by a user named Olajide, with the handle @joph007_, which included abusive remarks about her.

Tacha expressed her surprise at the claims, asserting that she did not receive any money from the woman and had no involvement in the alleged transaction, emphasizing that she had never spoken to the woman prior to the accusations.
