Kuje Chairman Shekwolo Addresses Healthcare Facility Issues

On Tuesday, Hon. Danjuma Samuel Shekwolo, the Chairman of Kuje area council, voiced his dissatisfaction with the poor state of some Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) in Kuje LGA.

During an inspection tour of selected PHCs and ongoing drainage evacuation exercises, he deemed the conditions unacceptable and inconsistent with his administration's commitment to quality healthcare. Shekwolo stated that these facilities should provide safe, accessible, and efficient services, but many currently fall below acceptable standards, discouraging residents from seeking medical care.

He assured that immediate rehabilitation and maintenance of the affected facilities would commence to enhance service delivery. Furthermore, he stressed that infrastructural improvements must be paired with the commitment and professionalism of health personnel.

A press statement from Koce Nimrod Vinatnayi, head of the Information Division at Kuje area council, quoted Shekwolo warning against negligence, absenteeism, and poor work ethics among staff, urging health workers to take ownership of their facilities and perform their duties with professionalism.
