Kuje Council Chair Clarifies 'Support APC or Leave' Comment

Danjuma Shekwolo, the Chairman of Kuje Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory, clarified his earlier statement suggesting that residents should support the All Progressives Congress (APC) or leave the council. This clarification came on Wednesday after backlash from a video where he stated, “I have said in my area council, it’s either you are doing APC or leave the area council.” Shekwolo explained that his remarks were made during a meeting with APC youths and were intended to address administrative efficiency, local development, and community welfare.

He emphasized that he has no authority to disenfranchise residents based on political affiliation and reaffirmed his administration's commitment to inclusive governance and the development of all communities in Kuje. Shekwolo urged residents to support the council's development efforts, regardless of their political, religious, or ethnic backgrounds, and called on the media to verify the context of statements before publication.
