Iyabo Obasanjo Celebrates Parents' Lifespan at Nearly 60

Iyabo Obasanjo, daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, expressed her gratitude for still having both parents alive as she nears 60 years of age. During an interview on the Morayo Show, she described herself as fortunate, noting that many people lose their parents at a younger age.

Iyabo reflected on her upbringing, revealing that her mother was the stricter of the two parents, emphasizing discipline through stern conversations rather than physical punishment. She recounted how her mother’s strictness left a lasting impression on her, while her father was less strict.

Iyabo acknowledged the challenges in the parent-child relationship over the years but emphasized that growing older has helped her develop healthier boundaries and a deeper appreciation for her parents. She described her mother as a "wonder human" and a "wonder soul," recognizing the ups and downs they have experienced together.
