Iyiola Oladokun Honors Late Mother at Funeral Service

Iyiola Oladokun, the former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, recounted the profound impact of his late mother, Mr. Alic Oladokun, during her funeral service held at Immanuel Baptist Church in Ado-Away on February 7, 2026. He revealed that despite advice from others to abandon him due to his health issues as a toddler, his mother chose to nurture him with love and faith, which he credited for his survival and success.

Oladokun expressed gratitude for his mother's sacrifices, stating she prioritized his education over her social life, often declining invitations to events. He described her as a welcoming and generous person, who raised nearly a dozen children and was a beer seller.

The service was attended by dignitaries and community leaders, including Chief Samson Iyiola Oladokun and Chief Alak Adeyemo, who acknowledged the legacy of kindness and values instilled by the late matriarch. Reverend Edward Alabi commended her influence on her son and the community.
