Peter Obi: Not Desperate for Presidency, Focused on Nigeria

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, declared during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics that he is not desperate to become Nigeria's president in 2027. He emphasized that his primary concern is to see Nigeria function effectively, irrespective of who is in power.

Obi clarified that his ambition stems from a desire to transform the nation rather than merely occupy a public office. He expressed that if Nigeria is progressing, he would support any leadership that contributes to that success.

Obi articulated his vision for a Nigeria where every child has the opportunity to succeed, free from poverty, and where young people can thrive. He stated that his candidacy is based on his belief in his ability to address the country's challenges, unite the nation, and set an example of what is achievable.

When asked about serving in another capacity, he indicated that he does not need to hold any office to contribute to the country's development.
