Police Foil Robbery in Imo State, Arrest One Suspect

On July 13, 2026, the Imo State Police Command successfully foiled a suspected armed robbery operation in the Umunoha area of Mbaitoli Council. The operation was executed following credible intelligence and involved a coordinated effort led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Orji, in collaboration with local military and vigilante members.

During the early hours of the operation, police arrested one suspect, identified as Onyegbulem Lucki Boi, while another accomplice managed to escape. Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects were mobilizing to rob unsuspecting residents.

A locally made pistol was recovered during the operation. The Commissioner of Police, Audu Garba Bosso, expressed satisfaction with the operation and commended the professionalism of the police and the support from local vigilante members.
