Police Arrest Armed Robber and Recover Firearms in Rivers

The Rivers State Police Command arrested a suspected armed robber identified as Austin Emenik, popularly known as Oyibo, during an operation informed by credible intelligence. The operation, which took place in Aluu Community, resulted in the recovery of multiple firearms, including one locally made pistol, four single-barrel guns, and five live cartridges.

The police spokesperson, ASP Bless Kaborlo, disclosed that preliminary investigations indicated Emenik's connections to a larger criminal network, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend other gang members. The Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, commended the operation for its courage and professionalism, reaffirming the command's commitment to eradicating criminal elements in the state.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police, emphasizing the importance of credible intelligence in maintaining security in Rivers State.
