Two Kidnappers Killed in Imo Police Operation

In a police operation in Imo State, two suspected kidnappers were neutralised, and two kidnapped victims were rescued unharmed. The operation was initiated following an intelligence report, prompting the Nigerian Police Force and local vigilantes to mobilise to a forest where the victims were held.

During the encounter, the security team faced an attack from the kidnappers, resulting in a gun duel. According to Ani Iniedu, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police Force, two kidnappers were killed, while others escaped with gunshot injuries.

Unfortunately, a member of the vigilante group sustained a gunshot injury during the operation and was later confirmed dead at a hospital. The incident is currently under investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department in Owerri.
