Imo State Reaffirms Support for Cancer Prevention Initiative

During a gala night held in Owerri, Imo State, Governor Hope Uzodimma reaffirmed the state's commitment to the First Ladies Against Cancer (FLAC) initiative. He praised the organization's humanitarian efforts to improve cancer care across Nigeria and urged collective action against cancer.

Uzodimma emphasized the necessity of public awareness and education to tackle the disease, which affects men, women, and children. He acknowledged the support from President Bola Tinubu's administration for cancer prevention, treatment, and palliative care, calling for ongoing health reforms.

The chairperson of FLAC Nigeria, Chioma Uzodimma, commended her husband's consistent support for the organization's advocacy and noted that FLAC comprises current and former first ladies of Nigeria. The event also celebrated cancer survivors, aiming to inspire hope and raise awareness about the disease.
