Oyo Principal Pleads for Rescue in Distress Video

In a distressing video released nearly two weeks after his abduction, Mr. Alamu, a principal from Oyo State, appealed for urgent assistance from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde.

The video highlights the dire conditions faced by Alamu and other abducted teachers and students, who are reportedly held captive by kidnappers in the Oriire Local Government Area. The incident occurred on May 15, during a coordinated attack on a community high school, resulting in the abduction of several pupils and teachers, and the reported killing of an okada rider.

Alamu's plea emphasized the urgent need for negotiations to prevent further tragedies, as the captors have become increasingly impatient. The Oyo State government has assured residents of intensified security operations aimed at rescuing the victims, with Governor Makinde confirming ongoing rescue missions despite challenges, including injuries sustained from improvised explosive devices allegedly planted by the kidnappers.
