Lagos and Ogun Police Rescue Five Kidnap Victims, Arrest 92

A joint police task force from Lagos and Ogun states conducted a significant operation that resulted in the arrest of 92 suspects and the rescue of five kidnapping victims. The operation, coordinated by Lagos State Police Commissioner Bode Ojajuni and Ogun State Police Commissioner Fatai Tijani, targeted criminal camps hidden in the Iperu forest.

During the operation, four suspected kidnappers were killed, and various weapons, including AK-47 rifles and locally made pistols, were recovered. The operation was part of a broader initiative led by Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu to combat violent crime in the region.

The police successfully rescued the victims, who had been abducted along the Ijebu Ode corridor, within 24 hours of their kidnapping. One victim, Nsofor Amachi, shared her ordeal, detailing the attack on her vehicle near Ogber.

The operation aimed to restore security across the communities and dispel fears of kidnapping.
