Police Arrest 138 Suspects, Rescue 23 Kidnap Victims

Between July 20 and 26, the Nigeria Police Force arrested 138 suspects for various offenses, including terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, and murder. They rescued 23 kidnapped victims and neutralized six notorious criminals during operations across the country.

The police recovered 31 firearms, including AK-47 rifles and pump-action guns, 99 rounds of assorted live ammunition, and 20 vehicles. Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, attributed these successes to intelligence-led policing, inter-agency collaboration, and tactical operations under the leadership of Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu.

Notable operations included dismantling an interstate kidnapping syndicate in Imo and Lagos states, where operatives rescued Donatus Emehara and neutralized Chinedu Asonna and Chisom Iroche. In Ondo State, three suspected members of an armed robbery gang were arrested, and in Zamfara State, the police rescued the wife and four children of the Chairman of Bungudu Local Government Area after a bandit attack.
