INEC Declares APC’s Mathew Dogara Daje Winner Of Munya Bye-Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Mathew Dogara Daje, as the winner of the Munya bye-election. Daje defeated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Hon Sabo Sunday Adabyinlo, to fill the vacant seat left by the death of Hon Joseph Haruna Duza in the Niger State House of Assembly.

The election saw the participation of three political parties, including the APC, PDP, and African Democratic Congress (ADC). Despite heavy security presence, the voting process was largely peaceful, with some polling units experiencing a large turnout while others had low participation.

INEC confirmed the relocation of polling units in some areas due to security concerns. The PDP candidate rejected the election outcome, alleging the use of state resources to manipulate the results in favor of the APC.

In his acceptance speech, Daje thanked Governor Umaru Bago and the APC family for their support in Munya.
