INEC Lists 19 Governorship Candidates for Bauchi Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) published the names and biodata of 19 governorship candidates and their running mates for the 2027 general elections in Bauchi State. This list was displayed at the INEC office in Bauchi over the weekend, showcasing candidates from various political parties.

Political supporters and party officials visited the office to confirm the inclusion of their candidates, demonstrating compliance with the Commission’s requirements and electoral laws. Supporters, including Auwal Captain, expressed confidence in INEC's early preparations, stating that the publication of candidates’ details enhances public trust in the electoral process.

Captain emphasized the importance of ensuring that the election outcome reflects the voters' choices rather than individual interests. Similarly, Malam Adamu Anatare urged INEC to uphold the confidence placed in it by ensuring accurate vote counting and results that mirror the electorate's wishes, highlighting concerns about protecting votes to avoid potential issues.
