Gospel Artist Urges Youth to Reject Political Thuggery

On Friday, Evangelist John Kola-Idowu, a Nigerian-American gospel artist and Convener of 1-150 songs of Psalms, urged Nigerian youth to embrace positive values and reject being used as political thugs ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking in Osogbo, Osun State, he emphasized the need for peace and unity, stating that young people should not sacrifice their future for financial gain from desperate politicians.

Kola-Idowu highlighted the importance of spiritual songs as a remedy for insecurity and social division, calling for initiatives that promote love and understanding. He also called on governments and world leaders to focus on peace-building and youth empowerment.

The Psalms 1–150 Global Concert, which aims to unite people through worship, will feature established and emerging gospel artists from various regions, starting with online participation. Kola-Idowu stressed that the concert is a movement to preserve languages and promote moral development.
