INEC Restores NDC Nomination Portal Access for Candidates

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has restored access to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) nomination portal, enabling the party to upload the names of its presidential candidates, including Peter Obi. Seriak Dickson, a former governor of Bayelsa State, disclosed this development via a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday.

He described the restoration as a positive step, allowing the NDC to file a notice of appeal against a recent judgment from the Federal High Court in Lokoja. This judgment had raised concerns about the party's status, but Dickson insisted that the NDC remains duly registered and legally recognized.

He confirmed that the party has already uploaded the names of its presidential candidates and plans to complete the process for vice presidential candidates soon. Dickson urged party members not to panic, assuring them that there is sufficient time to finalize the nomination process before the INEC deadline of November 11 for national assembly candidates and July 17 for gubernatorial candidates.
