INEC Uploads Peter Obi's Name as Presidential Candidate

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially uploaded Peter Obi's name to its portal as a presidential candidate, as announced by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) national leader. This disclosure was made on a Monday, coinciding with the NDC's filing of an appeal against a recent court ruling.

The NDC stated that the application for the appeal accompanies a request for the INEC chairman to grant access to the portal for the submission of candidates' names. The timeline for uploading presidential candidates' names is set until July 11, while submissions for governorship candidates are due by July 17.

The NDC emphasized its commitment to participating in the political process and conducting primary elections, despite some disagreements arising during the primaries. The party aims to reconcile efforts among aspirants and stakeholders nationwide.

The NDC leader urged party members to remain calm and expressed confidence in completing the candidate submission process in time.
