NDC Uploads Peter Obi as Presidential Candidate for 2027

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially uploaded the name of Peter Obi as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal. This action comes as the NDC files a stay of execution against a court judgment that ordered the party's deregistration.

Seriake Dickson, the national leader of the NDC and a senator, disclosed this information in a statement on Monday. He emphasized that the NDC remains a duly registered political party and has participated in the electoral process, having concluded its primary elections under INEC's supervision.

Dickson urged the INEC chairman to act according to the law and grant the party access to the INEC portal for uploading the names of its candidates. He reassured party members to remain calm as the reconciliation process has begun following the conclusion of the party's primaries.

The NDC has also filed an appeal against the court's ruling, which will determine the next course of action.
