INEC Updates NDC Logo and Leadership Following Court Ruling

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has updated the logo and national leadership roster of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) on its official website, complying with a federal court directive. This action follows a judgment delivered on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, by Justice J.

O. Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The lawsuit, registered under suit number FHC/ABJ/CS/1814/2026, was initiated by the NDC after INEC refused to recognize and publish the modified logo and color palette adopted during the party’s inaugural National Executive Committee meeting. Justice Abdulmalik ruled that INEC's refusal was unconstitutional, illegal, and an infringement on the party's legal rights.

Consequently, INEC updated the identities of the party’s principal national officers, recognizing Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe as the National Chairman, Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu as the National Secretary, John Odey as the National Treasurer, Mainasara Abubakar Sani as the National Financial Secretary, and Reuben Egwuaba as the National Legal Adviser.
