Minister Idris Lauds Otu's Revamp of Information Hub

On Thursday, in Calabar, the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, commended Cross River State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, for the modernization of the State’s information infrastructure. This was highlighted during the official reactivation of the remodelled Cross River State Newspaper Corporation, now known as the Cross River Information Hub, alongside the commissioning of a new Government Printing Press.

Idris described the transformation as a significant step towards restoring an important public institution and enhancing credible journalism. He noted that the Cross River State Newspaper Corporation, established in 1971, had historically documented state affairs.

The Minister emphasized that credible journalism is vital in the fight against misinformation and maintaining public trust. He also stressed the importance of preserving official records for responsible governance, stating that a government that fails to document its history risks losing it.
