Idris Malagi Praises Otu for Chronicle Newspaper Revamp

On Thursday, during the commissioning of the newly remodelled Chronicle newspaper edifice in Calabar, Alhaji Muhammed Idris Malagi, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, commended Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River for revitalizing the state-owned newspaper building that had been abandoned for six years following its destruction during the #EndSARS protests in 2020. Malagi emphasized the importance of restoring the institution and preserving the integrity of journalism, stating that the event was about more than just reopening a building; it was about renewing confidence in the media profession.

He also highlighted the commissioning of a modern government printing press, which is essential for producing and preserving official documents. Governor Otu reiterated his administration's commitment to enhancing the flow of information between the government and citizens, ensuring that all information assets are revitalized to fulfill their mandates.
