INGRA Urges Kogi Government to Invest in Key Services

The Initiative for Grassroots Advancement in Nigeria (INGRA) has called on the Kogi State Government, led by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, to urgently invest in affordable mass transportation, reliable public water supply, and environmental sanitation. In a press release signed by executive director Hamza Aliyu, INGRA described these sectors as essential for improving the daily lives of citizens.

The organization criticized the government for not translating the Kogi State Development Plan into visible benefits, stating that basic public services should not be treated as luxury projects. INGRA referenced the Kogi State Government’s 2026 Second Quarter Budget Implementation Report, which indicated that the state received approximately ₦258.94 billion in revenue between January and June 2026.

They urged the government to provide detailed information on executed projects and called for the establishment of a Kogi Mass Transit Scheme. Additionally, INGRA urged the government to move beyond temporary water supply solutions and focus on sustainable access to clean water.
