Army Calls for Enhanced Security Collaboration in Nigeria

Major General Olurotimi Awolo, during the opening of the week-long Command Operational Plan Cadre 2026 in Nasarawa State, emphasized the need for stronger inter-agency collaboration among security agencies to effectively address the diverse security challenges facing Nigeria, including insurgency, terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping. He noted that the security threats vary across regions and require specialized response training and coordination among security personnel operating in different theaters.

The training program aims to equip personnel within the command's area of responsibility with the necessary knowledge to respond effectively to emerging security challenges. Awolo highlighted the importance of a multi-agency approach to asymmetric operations and joint operations, given the nature of current military operations across the country.

He expressed appreciation for the leadership support from Chief of Army Staff Waidi Shaibu, which has facilitated the success of the organizational cadre through approved funding. Awolo urged participants to apply the knowledge gained during the training to address operational challenges effectively.
