CPFA-MN Launches Initiative to Enhance Community Security

The Community Peace and First Aid Mission Nigeria (CPFA-MN) has announced its commitment to assist citizens in safeguarding their communities in response to increasing insecurity across Nigeria. The initiative, led by Col.

Igw Ibil Amara (rtd), aims to empower Nigerians to actively participate in community safety and contribute meaningfully to national development. During the celebration of the second anniversary of CPFA-MN, a workshop titled "National Insecurity: Building Community Resilience" was conducted to train citizens in techniques and knowledge for proactive conflict management.

The program focuses on leveraging community strengths to take ownership of security, including the formation of surveillance teams. Nigeria continues to face serious threats from various insurgent groups, including Boko Haram and ISWAP in the North East, as well as farmer-herder conflicts in the North Central and separatist tensions in the South East.

Despite ongoing interventions, security concerns are rising in the South West, highlighting the urgent need for grassroots conflict resolution and peacebuilding initiatives.
