GPFN Launches Peace Campaign in Kaduna Communities

The Global Peace Foundation Nigeria (GPFN) has intensified its grassroots peacebuilding efforts by launching a renewed peace campaign in the Nasarawa and Kakuri communities of Kaduna State. This initiative is part of a six-month program designed to deepen social cohesion and prevent the resurgence of tensions that previously strained relations between these neighboring communities.

Rev. Joseph John Hayab, the Country Director of GPFN, explained that the initiative became necessary in response to earlier misunderstandings that led to tensions.

The campaign involves multi-stakeholder engagement, bringing together religious leaders, traditional rulers, youth groups, and women's associations to promote dialogue and strengthen early warning systems. The chiefs of Nasarawa and Kakuri have jointly agreed to host stakeholder engagements to demonstrate their commitment to peace.

The program emphasizes that sustainable peace cannot be achieved without deliberate efforts to improve communication among residents and address unresolved grievances.
