Oyo Headmaster Kidnapped, N30 Million Ransom Demanded

On Saturday evening, Kolawal Mathew Owoad, a 60-year-old headmaster of a nomadic basic school in Igbojay, Budo Aar, Itesiwaju Local Government Area, Oyo State, was kidnapped by gunmen who demanded a ransom of N30 million for his release. The incident occurred shortly after Owoad returned from his farm.

His son, Abiola Owoad, reported that the kidnappers contacted the family using the victim's mobile phone to make the ransom demand. Following the abduction, a search team was deployed, which recovered an abandoned motorcycle in a bush area.

Abiola Owoad has appealed to security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, to intensify efforts to rescue his father. This incident follows a recent coordinated attack in Oyo State, where 40 schoolchildren and a teacher were abducted but later regained their freedom through a joint security operation.
